1985 Harley XLX Sportster Ironhead
Thank God There's Harleys... So, let's show them!
Mike from Carthage, Missouri, United States sent us these photographs of his gorgeous 1985 Harley XLX Sportster Ironhead which is one of the last Harley Ironheads that left the Harley Davidson Motor Company factory. In 1986 the Sportster Ironhead engine was replaced by the Sportster Evolution engine. Since Harley apparently imported quite a bit of technology for the development of the Evo engine, many people consider the Ironhead engine to be the last real Harley.
Mike: "This bike is as close to perfect as you can get. She was completely restored in 2009. All new paint. Everything that could possibly be polished is. Most bolts replaced with chrome. Many new parts. Engine was rebuilt with new rods, pistons, etc. Bike starts easily. Those new pipes sound great along with the S&S carb. Let pictures speak for themselves."
