1974 Sportster Ironhead with 1200 Kit
Brad from Illinois, United States, sent us these photographs of his nicely restored 1974 Sportster Ironhead which has a right foot shift 1000cc engine with a Ironhead 1200 Kit, and an S&S Super E Shorty Carburator. Brad put in about 6 months worth of evenings work into the transformation of his Harley Davidson into his own personal machine.
He mounted a 1999 Harley Roadking gas tank and a Fatboy front fender for a rear fender. New drag bars, all new switches and controls, new oil cooler. The paint job: Pearlstone Pearl Metalic (1995 Chrysler color), with silver pearl ghost flames on the fenders and tank, and it has the name "Harley Davidson" painted in ghost letters on the gas tank.
Brad: "I'm not sure what the tail light is off of. I had to cut and widen the fender just over 1 inch to make the light fit, but it was worth it. I like the clean look from the back. Looking forward to installing forward controls this winter, electric start, have not put kick starter on, hopefully wont have to kick it! Also need to put larger cams in it this winter, need MORE POWER!!!"
